I want to build a hovercraft that uses a hydraulic motor driven by an internal combustion engine. The hydraulic motors will drive the two lift fans and the propulsion fan. What I don't know is how to calculate the size of the hydraulic motors, pump, engine, and fan load. The craft would carry a useful load of 600 lbs. 6 ft wide and 10 feet long. Two 24 inch ducted fans on gimble mounts would provide lift and steering. A 36 inch propulsion fan would provide thrust. The fans should be capable of 3000 rpm. An air cooled 300cc gas engine should do it. Any engineers out there to confirm these suppositions????
